Grant Writer
The Grant Writer manages communications and application materials related to requesting grant funding for Freedom Scholars Learning Center. This position works closely with the Executive Director, program accountant and FSLC Board. This position is hybrid remote and in-person, slated for 6-10 hours per week with a flexible schedule to be agreed upon by the candidate and organization. An ideal candidate for this position is excited about education, and is committed to equity, inclusion and justice.
Responsibilities
- Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of FSLC.
- Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies.
- Identify and track terms of grant opportunities (i.e. restricted vs. unrestricted funding)
- Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of FSLC
- Submit proposals to grant coordinators for approval.
- Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.
- Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders.
- Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.
